Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette ($58.00 for 0.33 oz.) is a trio of Hourglass' blushes, including one shade (Incandescent Electra) that's exclusive to the palette. Luminous Flush and Mood Exposure were very similar to the individual, permanent versions I have, though they varied slightly as is the nature of the product (swirled, so yours may be lighter or darker, depending on how much the blush and illuminator portions are). The Mood Exposure in the trio has more of the illuminator showing, but the general composition, look, feel, and so forth, are in the line with the standalone shades. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes have a very soft, finely-milled feel that's silky and a little powdery in the pan, but they don't look powdery applied. They have good color payoff that's buildable as well as blendable, so you can always take it down a notch if you prefer or go for full-coverage.
For this year Christmas holidays, Hourglass has released a limited edition of these famous blush in a palette. The brand had already done this last year for its famous powders, which is how I discovered them!
The palette packaging with 3 different blushes is super convenient because it allows you to try 3 different colours for a better price. (yes, I know, $58 is not exactly cheap)Every Hourglass blush sold separately is sold $35 alone, and the size of the mono blushes is slightly larger.
Regarding the formula, the brand is quite strict about the ingredients they use and all powders and blushes are talc-free, paraben-free, without nanoparticles and fragrance-free.
- the price! Even if it's cheaper than buying 3 blushes from the brand, it's expensive, I'm not gonna lie...- it's fragile. I don't think I would take it with me in my suitcase. It's a pity because it's a palette, so you could think it would have been the perfect on-the-go product. But it's not.
I loved it to bits! It was handy, so I could carry a selection of blushes around, the packaging was slim and compact, and the colours were very flattering on skin. I wore them so often and still reach for it at any given opportunity.
The pan sizes are the same size as that of the Ambient Edit palette, which makes it quite small. The pan sizes of the blush trio are larger. But it is large enough that you can use a blush brush quite comfortably with it.
Thanks for the review. I just bought one yesterday at Sephora Ion SG. My first time to buy the brand as I am a dior, chanel & YSL addict. It instantly catched my eyes. I was supposed to buy the charlotte tilburry blush but I opted this hourglass instead because it looked colorful & beautiful. I hope I will not be disappointed.
I really love Hourglass blushes but at least half of their shades are too light for me. I went to Nordstrom to swatch this palette and 2 shades looked very light swatched. Wonder if they look more pigmented on They all look pretty on you. Would have loved to have a Hourglass blush palette.
They look more pigmented than I thought but not sure if they will work with my skin tone. I own Diffused Heat blush and like it, but returned Radiant Magenta cause it was a little ashy and muted on me.Still excited about this palette, really want a good blush palette for travel.
Ambient Lighting Blush is a combination of Ambient Lighting Powder (for soft-focus luminosity) and pigment (for color). For more details please read my original review of Radiant Magenta and Mood Exposure here or Dim Infusion and Diffused Heat here. No two pans are alike due to the marbling effect/ratio between the powder and pigment. If your pan has more color than powder, your blush will have a better color payoff on the skin and will look more like a blush. On the other hand, if your pan has more powder, then the effect may come off more as a highlighter than a blush.
My advice would be to swatch the palette in person before purchasing since each color seems to react differently to different skin tones. In terms of value, of course it is awesome. You get 3 colors to try, 2 of which are best-selling shades, for the price of less than 2 singles! Right now the palette is listed as limited edition but it could eventually earn a permanent spot in the line, just look at the Ambient Lighting Palette. :)
Syl, I think Incandescent Electra would show up so much better on your pale complexion! Even with 10% of the pigment in the pan. LOL. It must be tricky for you to wear super pigmented blushes, no LOL at the histological slide appearance. Liz calls these blushes BACON blushes! Hahaha. YOU TWO!!
this is one of my biggest lemmings.. I dream on owning one, hourglass products are very hard to obtain outside of the US. I loved this post and I think all of them compliment you really well. You just made me want it even more!
Hourglass released a new LE blush palette for the Holidays called the Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush Palette. It features a new blush formula and three beautiful shades. They took the illuminating formula of the Ambient Strobe Lighting Powders and infused it with blush colors. The result is, a glowing color with natural and radiant finish.
Also I feel like the shades in the new blush palette are all a touch darker than their previous palettes so I find it more versatile. I think it will both suit fair to light and even medium skin tones.
HourglassThis palette is insanity. All of the colors are so gorgeous. Unlike similar products you don't have to pack it on super heavy to see a difference. The shades are really neutral so they'd compliment most all skin tones. It is pricey but because you don't have to overdo application it lasts a long time making it a good investment. Another slam dunk from hourglass.
The Ambient Lighting Edit Ghost palette, now available at Nordstrom, Sephora, and Beautylish consists of 6 curated shades of bronzer & blush and setting powder. This gorgeous six pan palette consists of everything you need for a radiant and luminous complexion.
I purchase the Hourglass Holiday palette every year and this one does not disappoint. I love the soft glowy airbrushed finish it imparts. I love the pinky shades in this palette which mix beautifully for customized luminosity and look forward to putting this on heavy rotation. Swatches below.
Unique to the 2019 collection this holiday is the Ambient Lighting Blush Quad, also available at Nordstrom. This stunning limited-edition palette consists of four blushes to create your very own cheek wardrobe, in a special silver and translucent palette.
All of that is to say that I think that palette is worth its price for me. Is it expensive Yes, but I know that these blushes will last me much longer than other blushes that might have the same weight.
I like to apply these with a soft and dense but still somewhat fluffy brush. A stiff brush will kick up too much powder and probably apply too much product, but a really lightweight brush like the Wayne Goss Air brush applies too soft of a wash for my liking. I really like an angled cheek brush like the Surratt sculpting brush, or even a more traditional brush like the Ecotools blush brush.
I always forget what a stunning brand Hourglass is. I've only tried a few products from the range so far, but I've fallen head over heels for all of them. The release of the new GIRL Lip Stylos really caught my eye, being a lip product junkie and all that, so it inspired me to pick a couple new things from the brand to try. In the end I came away with two shades of the Lip Stylos and the newest blush palette.
Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush Palette Hourglass blushes are some of my favorites - I have the full size of Mood Exposure and wear it almost every time I go for a powder blush, and I used to have the first blush palette as well. When I saw the new blush palette, I knew I needed it - all three shades appealed to me. There's Incandescent Electra, a brightening coral shade that's in the permanent collection, Brilliant Nude, a warm nude shade that adds a lot of life to the face, and Euphoric Fusion, a stunning subtle purple shade that adds a lovely flush. The palette has the same beautiful formula as the full-size blushes, being super soft to the touch and finely-milled. These blushes are swirled together with the Strobe Lighting Powders, making these a little bit more glowy than the original blushes. They're not glittery at all though and really bring life to the skin. So far I'm loving the palette, though I'd suggest checking the marbling before buying - I wish my Brilliant Nude pan had more of the blush shade and less of the highlight shade.
I am very excited to see how these powders look once applied. They look very pretty from the swatch I did (see below). I am also curious to see how these colors compare to others in my collection. Stay tuned! The thing that sold me on this palette is the fact that ALL shades in the palette are brand new. I held back from purchasing the other Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette due to the fact that I owned a few of the shades in the palette.
These beautiful blushers came out around the beginning of the year but they were so pricey individually so I kept passing them by. Last holiday season they came out with their Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette so I was hoping that a blush palette like this was in the works.
What it does:Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush is an innovative blush in three shades that are fused with the illuminating effects of Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder. Its ultra-fine pearl particles are in varying sizes and refraction levels, with on-trend hues to provide glowing, lit from within color.
From game-changing makeup palettes to gift-friendly nail polish sets, these brand-new beauty products are totally putting a spring in our step. Revive your get-ready routine with one or two of these special buys or gift them during the holiday season to your most beauty-obsessed friends. 59ce067264
