This week we finally get into a part I have been waiting to see for a long time. Much to my surprise I was not disappointed. With the exception of a few annoying gag moments interrupting some awesome moments this episode was pretty dang awesome. The pacing moves a long pretty quickly, yet it still takes some moments slow. Through the episode it never gets to feel too awkward, but instead maintains a good pace throughout.
This episode might actually be one of the best of the new series. While that might not being saying a whole lot, I really did enjoy it. A lot of it actually felt like Berserk to me. Which is kind of sad in a way. But hey, at least this one was pretty awesome. We can only hope Berserk 2017 stays on this path.
The story in this episode is again largely setup. It is nice that this season is taking time to do this. Since this arc is set to explode very soon, the contrasting pace should work nicely. In terms of actual plot progression, there is some important aspects in this episode. For the most part these moments are actually handled well.
As usual Berserk 2017 is not amazing looking. The CG hampers what could have been an amazing looking show. Like many other episodes, this one also waste a lot of the hand animation on parts for fan service. Which sucks, I would prefer they save those for important moments to make them look good. Instead we will likely be stuck with the awkward CG for them instead.
After watching it, I felt a little odd. Almost as if nothing had happened. Some stuff did happen for sure, but this episode just seemed to breeze by a bit too quickly. I did enjoy most of it, but I still wish it was handled a bit better.
The latest season might be regarded as 2 separate seasons in some cases with 12 episodes each, making the series 3 seasons long. For convenience, in this article, we will consider the series to have only 2 seasons.
Do not skip the movies as they contain the build-up for the latest seasons. Feel free to skip the OVA Berserk: Recollections of the Witch (2017) as it acts as a recap of the latter half the 2nd season.
As you can see, the original Berserk anime aired in 1997, and after that, numerous adaptations entered the franchise. The 2016 and 2017 adaptations serve as direct sequels to the original anime, while the Golden Age Arc movies all serve as remakes of the original 90s adaptation. On the other hand, the Memorial Edition is a recollection of the movies that have been rearranged into the format of a tv series with episodes.
Episode 4 of Season 2 (or Episode 17 as a whole) of Boku no Hero Academia (My Hero Academia) continues the Sports Festival after Izuku got first place and basically got a giant bulls-eye on his back for having 10 million points. The burden of being the best and on top shows as he has to find partners for the cavalry battle within 15 minutes. While he does that, a couple of pro-heroes (the ones from the first episode), talk about how heroes have to struggle to get ahead of one another.
It would have worked a lot better if the overloaded turboencabulators and such that you normally see in Star Trek occasionally made it impossible to turboencabulate something in the next episode.
I liked the original a lot but only made it a few episodes into the new season. It jumped over a line of weirdness and stayed there long enough that it made it hard for me to stay engaged. I like the weirdness mixed in a little bit, but not too much. 59ce067264
